Winning the the oldest and most renowned sporting trophy in sailing world
One of the highlights in iXent's history are winning the oldest and most renowned sporting trophy in sailing world – the America’s Cup in 2010 and 2013. Within “Oracle Team USA” Christoph and Thomas had significant influence on the development as core members of the team.
They spend more than a decade as design team members living through all the highlights and challenges that come along with working in a racing team. These fast-moving environments with highly motivated and skilled people enabled us to accomplish significant tasks in very short time – steep learning curve always part of the game.
The expertise of iXent’s founders and staff builds on multiple pillars:
A strong theoretical and academic background.
Comprehensive experience in structural design and optimization.
Rounded up by an extensive tool set of computer design, analysis and optimization methods.
Over the years in-depth expertise was built and iXent was in charge of structural design in the areas of rig/wing, hull/platform and appendages and covered the full range from first conceptual sketches to design detailing and support to commissioning testing on the boats.

The effort was crowned with winning the Cup twice and a lot of the methodology, ways of working and team culture that we developed while working in this “engineering sandbox” is now forming a vital part of what iXent can bring to other projects.
